Who we are

Young people ages 5 - 18 are invited to participate in an exciting program that encourages exercise and health.  Parents are also welcome to join.

Kingdom Fitness Running Club is a faith-based organization that encourages young runners to reach their full potentials in every area.  Emphasizing fitness, leadership, and personal goals, the Kingdom Fitness team will help your child develop skills that will remain throughout his or her life.

As an accredited member of USA Track & Field, Kingdom Fitness membership serves as a platform to compete in Southern Association, Regional, and National events.  Most of our members do compete regularly in cross country meets, although it is not required that they do so.

Goals

  • To provide a Christ-centered, family focused atmosphere for the purpose of enabling young runners to attain personal goals in physical fitness and in  life.
  • To bring families together in a social setting, through exercise, play, and relaxation.
  • To teach Biblical principles and leadership skills through the training program of the running club.
  • To provide a supervised, structured fitness regime for leisure runners and for young runners who are participating in organized athletics, such as Cross Country, Track and Field, and other running sports.
  • To enter club members in running events and to help them excel in competition.
  • To equip our club members with knowledge on proper nutrition and daily exercise and to share with everyone the benefits of a healthy lifestyle.
  • To train on a weekly, year-long basis with a concentrated effort during peak running season.  To offer our club members and other young runners the opportunity to attend a week-long, residential running camp during the summer.

Location and Times

Kingdom Fitness is based at The Gospel Christian Training Center in Ruston, LA.  Home of the Choudrant High School Invitational, The Gospel offers multiple running trails, both open and wooded, in a safe environment.  The Gospel has been rated one of the top ten cross country courses in Louisiana.

The Gospel is located on Hwy. 821, 2.5 miles east of Hwy. 33 (Farmerville Highway).  All practice sessions originate at the pavilion area.

We practice Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and Saturday mornings from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.  Practices are cancelled in the event of rain.   During the winter months, a temperature of 45 degrees Fahrenheit or below also invokes cancellation.  Temperature is determined by calling Community Trust Bank's time/temperature line at 5:00p.m. or 10:00a.m.  Attendance at all practices is not required.
